Job Information

The Staff Physician is responsible for the provision of Primary Medical Care to patients according to the Care Clinic policies, procedures and protocols. May require in/out of state travel. This position has unlimited access to all PHI.

Duties Include:
Provides direct medical care to patients using appropriate standard of care
Works collaboratively with other providers, nursing and medical support… staff to provide excellent team based care
Attends and participates in provider meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, CQI meetings, patient staffing and administrative activities as assigned
Works with CQI Coordinator to implement and monitor Quality Assurance projects as assigned
Participates in staff development programs
Maintains current knowledge of HIV/AIDS treatment guidelines and protocols
Performs timely and appropriate documentation in the EMR of patient care, referrals, patient correspondence and interaction
Precepts students and residents as assigned
Maintains acceptable levels of performance indicators and quality measures for the assigned patient panel
Maintains acceptable levels of clinical productivity
Provides medical consultation to other providers as needed
Provides telemedicine services as assigned
Performs any other department of agency related duties or special projects as directed by the Medical Director

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited medical school
Current licensure in the State of Alabama to practice medicine
Appropriate experience as a practicing physician and extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS
Professional liability insurance
Current State of Alabama Controlled Substances License and DEA number
BCLS certification

Physical/Mental Abilities:
Frequent sitting, some standing, walking, occasionally lifting supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs., occasional reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. This position requires an individual who is mentally alert and able to effectively communicate. Reasonable accommodations will be provided when requested

Qualifications:
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner State of Alabama, Master of Science Degree in Nursing
Collaborative agreement with appropriate physician(s) as required by Alabama Board of Nursing
Appropriate experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner and extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS
Professional liability insurance
BCLS certification
