DUTIES:
Conduct financial analysis of practice operations, identify meaningful trends and factors and utilize these trends and factors to recommend process improvements. Responsible for quality control of accounts payable, collections, and insurance claim filing. Prepare and maintain financial records, files and reports (including tax-related reports) according to practice standards and governmental regulations. Assist Finance Committee Chair in conducting monthly or special meetings, facilitating committee discussions and submitting monthly reports on the status of the practice. Attend physician meetings on a weekly basis. Work with the practice accounting firm and legal counsel as necessary to review monthly financial information prepared by accountant. Maintain and provide information as needed for completion of all federal and state tax returns. Responsible for the entire accounting system to ensure that established procedures provide well-defined internal control standards. Prepare an operating budget and compare actual to projected budget to advise and review with the Administrator and physicians. Review all invoices and statements received from vendors for payment. Check all invoices for discounts earned and secure competitive bids for supplies and equipment. Monitor accounts receivable. Work with Third Party Administrator of 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan to ensure proper and timely deposit and administration of employee deferrals and physician contributions. Provide information as needed for completion of annual Form 5500. Provide professional, effective, and appropriate representation of the practice and physicians at all times when dealing with vendors, contractors, patients, and other professionals.
